24:1900: New Artists - Gaston Cereceda (Chile), Horse Rider (U.S.A.) & Funkatroid (Australia)

This week we welcomed the following talented artists who have agreed to take part at this year's 24:1900 music festival.

Gaston Cereceda (Chile)

Gaston Cereceda’s music spans experimental, DIY electronic, and post-rock territories, with a distinct lo-fi edge. His LP, ‘El Ultimo Testamento de la Heroina’, revels in a raw, homemade aesthetic that favours creative energy over studio polish.

Listeners may be reminded of early Sebadoh or Daniel Johnston (with his DIY ethos and rough-edged charm).

Horse Rider (U.S.A.)

Horse Rider combines elements of 90s alternative rock, emo, shoegaze, and slowcore to create a sound marked by lush guitar textures, emotive vocals, and a grunge-tinged backdrop.

Fans of Horse Rider may find similarities with Slowdive in their heavy, reverb-laden shoegaze moments, or Codeine for their slowcore approach and understated intensity.

Funkatroid (Australia)

Funkatroid are going to be getting all George Clinton on your ass.

A synthesis of groove, blending P-Funk, Electro Boogie and Afro Disco elements but presented with a modern flair, they delight listeners and audiences with their Parliament/Funkadelic alike sounds. Think also Jamiroquai and The Brand New Heavies.
